The way we architect and build our software is changing, moving towards more smaller services rather than the large monoliths we’ve been used to. This brings a whole new set of operational and developmental challenges, meaning quick execution is key.
We manage our own hardware in a datacentre in London and generally avoid using external cloud based services. This means there is plenty of physical infrastructure to manage and orchestrate. Commissioning and decommissioning, changing disks, patching and upgrading hardware are all daily tasks, alongside managing the lifecycle of existing hardware within our datacentre.
Being in control of our own infrastructure and tools allows us to develop features and make changes quickly and easily. We are a small team and generally work in broad strokes, allowing everyone to be exposed to many different technologies and areas of the business.
You’ll probably have your speciality within the team but we all support each other and the wider business when the need arises. This does mean a very small amount of desktop support for colleagues from time to time.
We are looking for someone who wants to learn a lot and really get involved helping us execute new plans alongside supporting our existing environment. Hopefully you’re interested in learning about new technologies and aren’t scared to break things in the name of learning and development.
The team will be there to support and aid your growth but we also expect you to be able to work autonomously and learn through your own volition where that’s possible. We need an engineer who has a passion for technology and can show us examples of learning and using new technologies to support their growth.
Our business is based around our passion for music and to thrive in this role, you will have an intrinsic love of music as we do.
